So lately the pace for my days has been whirlwind, sit still, whirlwind, sit still, sleep again, repeat. It’s a little nuts. But the good news is yummy and pretty things are happening around here. Thanks to my darling husband, I was able to go on a short solo walk last week to what will probably be the last farmer’s market in town. The weather is starting to turn and the crops are going away, so I had to take advantage. I even went out on a limb and bought squash, something I am not so fond of. My hope is that with a soup recipe I found I can learn to at least tolerate it. But I did get something I really do love…pears! They were fifty cents a pound, so I may have gone a bit nuts. But that means they all got peeled and cooked down with some honey and spices. So yummy alone, and so yummy on ice cream. It’s good to have options.

After much begging and pleading from my daughter, I finally finished the chore chart. I have only had all the parts for about a year. Sad, I know. But I had to take advantage of it because how many three-year-olds beg to have a chore chart? Not many. It’s not super flashy or tidy, but she loves it. Partly because she picked out all the trims and fabric. Best of all, she loves doing her chores so she can move the tokens around.

Over the weekend, I made a trip to town to nab some of the few supplies I will need to make Christmas gifts this year. And tomorrow, I had better get my butt in gear. I am only making a handful of gifts this year, partly because I found so many perfect gifts for people that are store-bought. Hooray books! But there are a few things that need to be stitched and sealed, and time is slipping away. I will keep you all posted. Hope you all have a great week.
