Class went really well Monday night, and now I have two projects to wrap up at some point. My test canvas from the first night of class was really too small to make into anything practical for the house. Instead, I turned it into a place mat for my daughters play table. It was a really good way to try out my new paints.
My larger scale project is about 2 by 4 feet, and it’s coming along great. I did a light yellow gradient for the background and added leaves in two shades of orange. All of those I did freehand. After I let that dry really, really well, I added some large swirls in pencil…and now I’m at a standstill. The next few weeks are going to be super busy, so I just left the whole floor cloth laying flat in my basement craft room. That way I sneak down there and work at the drop of a hat. Then I have to seal it about six times so it can survive in my kitchen. It may be a while, but I promise to share pictures as soon as I get it done.

And big boo for my weekend — only one day off. I have to head in Sunday to work ahead on a last-minute project. But oh well, it will pay off down the road. But that does mean I will be sacrificing some craft time this weekend. Oh well, that’s the way it goes I guess. If any of you are facing the same problem, don’t forget you can make something great by taking advantage of the spare moments you have. That is practically the only way I get anything done! Have a great — but always too short — weekend everyone!
You are adorable.
Ha thanks! I think the dorky double-thumbs-up is my trademark pose for pictures.
