I wanted to put Super Mom in the title today, because I was really feeling like one. But it seems overly boastful, and I don’t want to make anyone feel bad. But today was just one of those days where everything clicked. Even though little Q got me up at 4 a.m. to nurse, he went back to sleep until just after 8. And since my little lady cooperated and watched some cartoons, that means I was able to crawl back into bed for a few extra hours.
Add to that playing in the snow, getting two loads of laundry done, making cookies with my kid and actually having 2 uninterrupted hours in my craft room, and I have a win. And I am loving the hell out of it because who knows how tomorrow will go. That exactly illustrates the problem with titles like Super Mom. They can mess with your head and make you feel bad if you happen to spend an entire day in your p.j.s and feed everyone grilled cheese for lunch and dinner.

I probably should’ve spent more time today working on some ideation sketches for some upcoming projects. But with Christmas coming and a sweet new baby needing a gift, I chose to sew instead. After a few hours of tracing pattern pieces and cutting out 4 kinds of fabric, I have been able to start assembling. I have had this pattern for a stuffed cow by Rumpled Quilt Skins for a few years. In the spirit of using what I have, I figured I would make it for him. It’s a bit tricky so far, but only because I don’t do much sewing in 3d. I still have a ways to go, but I am making progress. Two more naps like today, and I will be done.

My daughter got up from her nap today and she wanted to play kitchen. So we made cookies and smoothies. It created a strange mix of healthy and not-so-healthy snacks. Strawberry keifer with mango and chia…yummy and energizing. Mint chocolate chip cookies…just yummy and not so healthy.
Super Mom or just lucky, whatever you choose to call it, it was a damn good day.
